Terry recently created an account on Instagram, making use of their moniker in the forums of old (Web 2.0), everydayterry. They follow exactly five people (because why would they follow anyone else if they could just text?) but on account of a few of their bird drawings going viral, they have gained a semi-decent following. Their way of speaking has led people to assume that they were a 70-year-old grandfather, to which they say, well, the public is only about 17 years short.

if they forced me to watch a rh*enicent story for two whole seasons culminating with alicent betraying her family then i think helaemond should make out next season. as a treat. as an apology to me personally.

I cannot believe this stupid fucking show is willingly carrying on this Rh*enicent crap and also attaching Alicole to it. It's degrading to their characters, especially since it's very one-sided. Rhaenyra doesn't give two shits about Alicent or Criston, she is living her own life with her own sucky husband. Having Alicent and Criston's relationship be all about Rhaenyra is gross, and makes them look even more pathetic then the show is making them out to be.

These two characters deserve better. They are the Green Queen and the Kingmaker. But what they are on the show are only shadows.

Honestly, I'm looking for reasons why I should keep watching hotd, and I can't find them. TG as a fraction are dead, Alicent as a character is dead. I don't care about TB, and I can't stand rh*enicent. So idk, there is nothing else in this show. They even cut out nettles, the line of which is one of the most interesting in the book.

I feel the same way. Team green were interesting in season one because they had that “we have each others back because all we have is each other” kind of dynamic and they had the potential to be kind of like the Roy’s from succession but that’s gone. TB are just boring and interesting characters like rhaena and baela have been stripped of their personality and character traits. Nettles is the most interesting dragonseed and has a great story but I’m starting to think it’s better if she isn’t included given how the writers have failed most of the characters. The show is doing a lot of damage by trying to prop up Rhaenyra ans Rhaenicent too. They’ve stripped the story of nuance and everything that made it good and intruiging.

I have to ask did HBO learn nothing from the later seasons of the original show. Softening the main Targ because people “love” them, cutting important storylines ect queer characters cut and only really used fan service instead of the actual book canonically gays/sapphics?!? (granted it is less male gazey then the Yara bullshit which makes me want to hurl due to how bad faith it is but still) Urg hbo is practically screaming the quiet part out loud and I hate it. They are as bad as Lucasfilm and the bullshit they are pulling

HotD and Got have different problems, but, your right, they do share one in common, and that is it the show runners wanting to tell their story more than the book. That is why HBO cut out Miguel Sapochnik, but make the mistake of putting Sarah as producer. And that is why this season it feels even more Rhaenyra/Alicent relationship focused than S1 in a lot aways.

For the inside I got and I think there is interview that kind confirmed that a bit, is that Sarah a long time ago read the books and she doesn't care about canon. She cares about Rh*enicent only, and that is why the worse choices on this show comes from her. She character assassinated Rhenys and Alicent over the "motherhood message" she fails to execute properly because at end of the day she is not a good writer when her bias come into play.

I know people like to put Ryan and her in the same bag, but at least with him for what I know, he is the one that care more about the source material and keep in touch with Martin. He is the one a bit to enamored with Daenerys and tries to bring her in the context of the story and subtext? Yes. But that doesn't bothers me as much compared to the others issues this show have, because in a weird way there is more ground for it.

And I feel at this point there is no way to come around those choices. Because S2 was the last chance of changing the subject a bit. Seasons 2 usually are one of the best of any story because it opens to the possibility of you explore new characters and expend the word building.

What we got was hints at most. Aegon, I give them that, he is well explored this season.

But besides him and the main trio, the relationships between the characters on tg and tb are so poorly dipped. It mostly happened to move the plot. Or happened of screen aka Heleana.

So is no surprise to me that they would cut so much. And is dumb. Because a show that tries to level up to Got so hard, doesn't understand one of the strongest point was the diverse cast of characters, instead of focusing on 3 main characters is just dumb.

The series has its share of bad takes, but the fans really take it to a whole new level. On AO3, you'll come across some truly disturbing interpretations of characters that make you want to chuck your phone across the room—some of the stuff with D*emyra and Rh*enicent is gross...and the endless fics about A*mond and Luke. There are harmful narratives being celebrated or romanticized in fanfics. The abuse directed at dark-skinned characters is truly disturbing, as is the way abuse towards women is twisted to seem like something positive. Most of these fanfics completely miss the mark with dark-skinned characters, either vilifying them, sidelining them, or acting like they don't even exist. Like... how are there so few fics with Baela and Jace, yet you find heaps with Jace paired up with other white characters. Yeah, the series is bad, but also fans too...

I think for certain shows these two go hand in hand. When you write an empty story thats more worried about soothing the egos of a large part of its fanbase than anything else, you attract people who dont want to be challenged. and thats a problem when its a story like this one. you get people who just want to revel in things that were obviously written into the original text to be autopsied and interrogated, rather than accepted or glorified.

Im all for writing whatever you want, stuff that seeks out the worst and rolls around in it, and clearly fanfic shouldnt be held to the same expectations as multimillion dollar piece of media, but it doesnt mean certain things shouldnt be challenged. but in this space theres no room for having the conversation, no one talks, it isnt a good enviroment for proper discussion of any kind, everyone is just in their bubbles. like the amount of black and brown creators (women especially) on tiktok i've seen be absolutely bombarded with dumbass comments for daring to question the treatment of hotd's black and brown characters, either in the show or by the fandom. and then with it being a popular show the problems just exacerbated. i've not read much hotd fanfic myself im too picky with it i think. but even in what i have read/seen i know what you're referencing, especially when it comes to the black characters.

Ryan Condal shifted the responsibility to rh*enicents shippers, about the reasons why he added scenes of Rhaenyra and Alicent together. This dude is so unprofessional and should be fired.

i've heard that most people upset about the leaks have shifted the responsibility to those shippers. which is unfair.

condal should be fired for his abhorent writing more than for anything else.

d&d liked the story that grrm written, they were just lazy assholes who wanted it out of their hands, so they could move on to star wars. condal genuinely thinks he is a good writer and does the job better than anyone else could. idiot level of arogance.

I mean sure there's the perspective that every team needs cause spurs are still in the prem and we're not say Southampton who are fighting for their lives, but I also don't think spurs fans are wrong to be pissed off right now. it's been building for years and years and i think everyone is finally just at the end of their tether. It's not like spurs are 5th and performing well, we're not playing like a team that should be anywhere above mid-table at best.

It's not a case of "conte bad" or "blame enic" it's everyone together making it such a calamitous shitshow.

The manager is non-committal to his future, won't adapt his tactics to suit the side he has, doesn't seem to want to do any coaching, refuses to switch up his team selection unless apparently players are (unnecessarily) BOOED off the pitch, and for some reason came to spurs and expected 100 of the world's best ready-made title winning players to come into the club when we were never going to provide that.

Our players are playing appallingly, our squad is thinner than a bald man's last remaining strand of hair, they go into the med room and never return, and there's the slight possibility we're headed for ANOTHER case of our players stopping playing for our manager.

The whole ownership of the club is a joke and is ruining the good parts of its legacy, we're never going to have the kinds of spending sprees of other top 6 sides but the lack of ambition continually displayed when it comes to player recruitment AND creating a thriving and useful academy is becoming negligible especially for the latter. we are not massively massively wealthy but we are spending like we are a lot poorer than we are. we don't back our managers, we don't know how to change and transition our squads at the right time and for a man that tries to save and obtain every penny possible the way levy refuses to sell players on before their price plummets to 50p and a freddo is crazy to me. and it's not only this lack of ambition that's killing us but the club has no idea whether it wants to be a microwavable ready meal short term winning machine (hence conte) or if it wants to be the english BVB with a focus on young talent and some experienced players to balance the side out. there's no rhyme or reason to who we buy or why we buy them. we spent all of last summer chasing djed's signature and beat out clubs like dortmund who are literally KNOWN for making young talent into stars and have given him about 20 minutes of game time all season in all competitions. we say our focus is on young talent and we always want to bring in a young player and develop them but spurs have ruined the careers of their own young talents and they're still fucking doing it now!

The whole club from the players to the manager to the recruitment staff to the academy to the owners are aimlessly wandering without any real purpose or direction or end goal, hell I'm not even sure "win a trophy" can be considered some people's objectives. as beautiful as the new stadium and training facilities are they mean nothing to fans if that's the biggest show of ambition they're going to get as if that's supposed to be their trophy from everyone involved's time at the club. at the end of the day juande fucking ramos is STILL the only manager in my lifetime to win a trophy with spurs. how can anyone defend that?
